A few years ago, Om Prakash received an invitation to go to England for a cultural program. Om Prakash agreed to go but kept a condition that the hotel in which he would be accommodated should have a good room and an attached bathroom. That is because Om Prakash has been suffering from piles for a long time due to which he sometimes has to sit in the bathroom for an hour or so and there is a huge shortage of bathrooms in the hotels of all the cities of England except London.

There are one or two rooms along with a bathroom.

Om Prakash's Hotel Encounter in Birmingham: Uninvited Guest Intrusion

As per the schedule, everything was taken to Birmingham. As promised, Om Prakash got the best room of the hotel. Om Prakash's health was not well. So he went and lay down on the bed. Only fifteen minutes had passed when an English citizen entered inside with a pipe in his mouth. While coming inside, he did not feel the need to knock the door. Om Prakash opened his eyes and was very angry to see a stranger, “What is this rudeness, how did this man come inside without knocking?” Om Prakash thought and asked angrily, “What do you want” That man had not seen Om Prakash lying on the bed. He was shocked as soon as he saw them. And got nervous and quickly said, “Oh I am very sorry.” And he quickly left. Om Prakash thought that perhaps he might have come here by mistake thinking it was his room. Closed my eyes again. But only a few moments had passed when the door was knocked again. Om Prakash got very angry, but still asked to come inside.

“One of those who came inside was the owner of the hotel and the other was the manager. Both of them spoke nervously in English in an apologetic tone, “Excuse me… this room was with our Prime Minister two hours before your arrival. He was leaving town, so we gave this room to you. But due to heavy fog his plane could not take off and he has returned. “It would be very kind of you if you could free up this room for him?” Om Prakash thought for a while and then said yes. He thanked him a thousand times and picked up all their belongings with his own hands and took it to another room. What happened was that Prime Minister Wilson, thinking that the room would be vacant, had come straight up while his companions were taking out luggage etc. from the cars and informing the hotel lady. “If I had been in India, let alone the Prime Minister, if I had been even a small deputy minister, my condition would have been appalling.” And Om Prakash spoke in the end.
