“Just Because You Are 45 And Married And Have Children, It Does Not Mean That You Do Not Have Any Sexual Desire”, Says Aahana Kumra

Talking about her role as the younger sister of Soni Razdan in the emotional gut wrenching film Yours Truly directed by Sanjoy Nag which is being streamed on Zee 5 now, the sprightly young actress Ahana Kumra stated that  if she is not seen after her eye catching portrayal of a bindaas girl in Ekta Kapoor’s Lipstick Under my Burkha as well as the TV serial Yudh with Amitabh Bachchan, besides The Accidental Prime Minister, where she played the role of Congress scion Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, it is only because she does not want to do sign for any film blindly unless and until it offers her scope to bite into it. 

“It does not matter whether or not a role has sexual innuendos, like in Lipstick Under My Burkha or for that matter Yours Truly, because though I am not married yet, I feel that just because you are 45 and married and have children , it does not mean that you do not have any sexual desire in you. Whenever I get an offer, I read the script properly and honestly, the length of the role never bothers me. Even if I am there in three scenes, it should have an impact".

Aahana continues. "My role in the film ‘Yours Truly’ is very small in terms of screen space if you compare it with Sony Razdan but it was a pleasure working with both Sony as a co-star and Sanjay Nag as the director. Sanjoy Nag had earlier directed the film Memories in March with Rituparno Ghosh, Deepti Naval and Raima Sen in the film.  I feel for people like us, who are from a non-film background, performance and honesty are the key to success. It also paves the way for another employment one good role leading to another”.
